This course examines the key components of developing business strategies for employment in the wellness industry. Students create a business plan with an emphasis on entrepreneurship. Using a practical approach, students identify a new business concept, design the products/services, identify a target market, and develop marketing, operations and financial plans. Students showcase a prototype of their business idea in a realistic business pitch. Through this course, students also explore individual strengths using science-based Gallup CliftonStrengths and determine how they can be used to direct career decisions. Key elements of a professional portfolio are also created and will be used in the career development process.
