This course provides an opportunity for students to prepare for entry into the field and community and to be working with various populations. The course will focus on both physical and mental wellness and what to expect as a frontline health practitioner. Students will prepare to work with a range of populations, delivering responsive, culturally appropriate, and patient-focused care. Students will be introduced to the concepts of use of self, trauma informed care, and cultural competency, humility, and safety. The course will also address relevant workplace health and safety legislation, as well as a driver improvement program.
