Introduction to Justice Careers

This introductory course examines the history, mission, functions, responsibilities, and recruiting practises of several justice sectors within the Canadian Justice System. By creating a personal vision of social justice, students will be well positioned to examine how each sector is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion within their hiring practices and in the field. Students will discover the application requirements, qualifications, and competencies needed to compete for positions within each sector and examine the unique workplace stressors and trends associated with them. By engaging in self-reflection and assessment exercises, interacting with recruiters in the field, and learning to access career support services at Humber, students will create their own readiness plans designed to assist them identify and leverage future career paths.
