Students learn about community pharmacy practice. Topics include federal and provincial jurisprudence, current trends and issues in pharmacy, as well as inventory management practices. Student learn generic and trade name(s) of most commonly prescribed drugs. They apply critical thinking and problem solving skills through group work. Students discuss pharmacy publications and journals on topics such as error prevention, standards of practice and complementary roles of the pharmacist and other health care practitioners to learn about the use of current, relevant and appropriate information resources.
