This course introduces Pharmacy Technician students to the structure and function of the Canadian health care system, with a focus on how it shapes pharmacy practice. Students will explore key concepts related to health care access, systemic barriers, and the social determinants of health. Special emphasis is placed on Indigenous health and wellbeing, including culturally safe care and reconciliation in health services. The course also integrates principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), encouraging students to reflect on their role in promoting inclusive and equitable pharmacy environments.
