Project Leadership: Human Relations and Ethics

Students explore the theories of leadership, human resource management and ethics and how professional application of these can make the difference between project success and failure. Students gain insight into leadership as it pertains to project management and resource management according to the PMBOK Guide and how these areas are influenced and guided by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. Students define the leadership and learn how it is distinct from the administrative paper work or planning activities of a project. Students examine how to ensure that staffing plans are developed, and teams and other resources are managed. Students study the PMI Code of Ethics as the standards expected for ethical and professional project management practice. Applications are provided through case studies.
