This course provides an overview of Canadas non-profit sector and its role in the Canadian economy and society. Students will learn skills needed to manage human, volunteer, and financial resources in a non-profit context and explore current issues that impact the sector, like ethics, innovation, technology, and fundraising. Students will also learn strategies for reaching target markets and fulfilling organizational missions, whether through direct beneficiaries, partnering with others, or influencing public sector organizations, and how to address and mitigate common risks faced by non-profit organizations in Canada and how to mitigate them.
