In this course, students will learn about the role of Small Claims Court in the administration of justice in Ontario. Small Claims Court practices regarding the required procedural rules for the prosecution and defence of claims will be emphasized using the Rules of the Small Claims Court and the relevant sections of the Courts of Justice Act. Students will learn the principles of proper pleadings, affidavits and other relevant court documents. The purpose and range of court motions and applications are covered in detail.
