In this course, students learn about ethics and its relevance to the role of a security professional as a person in a position of authority. Students will learn about major schools of ethical thought and moral reasoning and be provided an opportunity to develop their own framework for ethical decision making and solving ethical dilemmas. Various models are used to critically analyze Canadian criminal and civil cases as well as social issues such as euthanasia, abortion, animal rights, capital punishment, professional misconduct, use of force, and corruption. Professional ethics and ethics of leadership will also be discussed.
