Exploring Diversity

In this course, students identify and examine issues involving social diversity. Specifically, students will focus on topics pertaining to inequity in various social settings, including but not limited to: gender, race, ethnicity, class, physical/mental abilities, and sexual orientation. Students identify, and discuss from various perspectives, issues that have hindered positive community or public safety relationships between security/police officers and citizens. Students develop awareness of issues around discrimination, racism, and intolerance. In addition, this course will enhance the student's knowledge and awareness of important issues facing Indigenous peoples in Canada.
