In this course, students learn skills such as time management, leadership styles, inclusive collaboration techniques and project management to help them become effective communications managers and leaders. Through a major team project, students learn to work together while using project-management software. They plan purposeful meetings, take on leadership roles and self-manage cooperatively to develop a project from start to finish. Through partnerships between the program and select not-for-profits, students volunteer their service to creating projects for these organizations; in return, the sponsors offer guidance, mentorship and portfolio building.
