In this course, students learn how editorial and communications workplaces function - and they learn how to navigate their future workplaces by practising the skills and etiquette that will be required of them. Skills include writing for diverse audiences, fostering inclusive workspaces, sending professional emails, giving successful interviews and presentations, planning industry events and tailoring job applications. They practise how to participate specifically in a communications environment through workshops where they give and receive feedback, pitch ideas and work collaboratively. Guest speakers from various writing sectors provide students with an insider perspective on the world of professional writing.
