In this course, students explore the fundamentals of the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) in the pharmaceutical industry, including the cannabis edibles industry. Students learn about the Good Manufacturing Practices compliance elements required under Canada's pharmaceutical regulatory framework and how to complete the CMC portion of a regulatory submission. Students learn about the physicochemical characteristics of numerous pharmaceutical products and discuss the responsibilities of CMC regulatory professionals and quality assurance/quality control professionals in the pharmaceutical industry.
