In this course, students explore biotechnology as an invaluable tool in a wide range of fields such as agriculture, environment, medicine, world hunger, etc. Students discuss the ethical, legal, and social implications of biotechnology. Learners engage in independent examination of existing scholarly literature and knowledge translation practices to support increased understanding of investigational topics. Special consideration is given to new techniques, biotechnologies, and methodological issues applicable to clinical trials in various therapeutic areas and disease states.
