Sport sponsorship is an extremely valuable resource which allows sport organizations to maximize revenues and achieve their business goals. This course provides an understanding of the role of sponsorship to a sport organization and provides students with an understanding of the processes involved in obtaining and renewing sponsorship support. Students study the importance of addressing the needs of sponsors, and will examine strategies used to leverage new opportunities to achieve successful sponsorship objectives. Additionally, students complete a sponsorship strategy for a sport organization or event which includes; idea proposal, solicitation and marketing strategies and the execution of a sponsorship pitch.
