This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the role of the law in social work and to equip them with sufficient knowledge of the law to assist them in their roles as advocates or case managers. Students will learn to recognize when someone's legal rights or his or her rights to dignity and equality have been violated and how to challenge these violations effectively. Students will learn what their rights and obligations are as defined by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers.
