Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine Mandarin

In this course, students learn the foundations of medical Mandarin. Through class room instruction, students become familiar with the phonetics and tones used in Mandarin, Pinyin, as well as some common Chinese characters and radicals. Students will apply Mandarin language to concepts developed in other first semester courses. Students learn Mandarin terms for basic anatomy including internal organs, TCM illness names, common symptoms, patterns and treatment methods to help them better understand the theory and treatment of disease in TCM, acupuncture point names and herb names.
