Through Clinical Internship 1, students transition from classroom learning to clinical application. Focusing on TCM diagnosis, herbal medicine and jurisprudence concepts, students apply TCM theory and herbology foundations in supervised clinical practice settings. With direct patient contact, students develop caring, compassionate and respectful relationships, assess patients, and develop herbal medicine treatment plans in a safe and competent manner. They perform TCM clinical assessment techniques on patients to create a TCM diagnosis, differentiate between TCM syndromes, develop treatment principles, select herbs for treatment, and monitor treatment outcomes. Students develop a professional and ethical manner using professional communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills in everyday practice.
