In this course, students apply fundamental knowledge of the meridian and acupuncture points in TCM diagnosis and treatment. Students compare and differentiate the channels, collaterals, and properties of acupuncture points including the regular points of the 14 channels and the extra points. Students learn functional grouping of the regular points, including five transporting points, source points, connecting points, cleft points, back transport points, front mu points, lower sea points, eight confluent points, eight influential points, mother / child points, and channel crossing points. Through classroom and simulation, students learn how to locate points and apply knowledge of precautions and contraindications for application of acupuncture on the points .
