Students explore the properties and functions of TCM herbs identified by the regulatory college in the Entry-Level Occupational Competencies. By engaging in lectures and laboratory studies, students investigate TCM herbology concepts, including properties, flavors, ascending and descending movements, floating, and sinking tendencies, channel tropism, actions, indications, and toxicity, with a focus on their clinical applications. Students analyze herb-herb interactions, compatibility, common combinations, dosages, potential adverse effects, contraindications, precautions, and pharmacological actions supported by relevant scientific research.
