Health Assessment

Course Code: TCMA 202

Academic Year: 2026-2027

Students learn the requisite skills required to perform patient health assessments across the lifespan. They identify normal findings and are familiar with common abnormal findings in a physical exam. Students recognize the impact of culture and diversity in health assessment and apply professional communication to develop collaborative practitioner-client relationships. Students practice interview skills, history-taking and the assessment of both physical and psychosocial components of health. The integration of these skills allows students to take an evidence-informed and person-centred approach to assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
