Students bridge their knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, diagnostic methods, and acupuncture to theoretical clinical practice. They compare typical signs, symptoms, aetiology, and pathogenesis of TCM internal illnesses before developing a syndrome differentiation to determine treatment goals and strategies, taking into account precautions and contraindications. Students master a clinical approach to TCM internal illnesses encompassed by the Lung, Spleen, Heart, Liver and Kidney systems, complying with the regulatory college's entry-level occupational competencies as well as clinically relevant illnesses.
