Students develop competency in the general procedures of External Therapeutics, focusing on Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities of moxibustion (direct and indirect), cupping, gua sha, and the use of supplementary heat devices, in this lab-based course. Emphasis is placed on adapting the clinical setting for patient comfort and safety, positioning patients for treatment, applying treatment techniques, and monitoring patient responses. Through hands-on practice, students learn to select and apply appropriate modalities while considering contraindications and precautions, ensuring safe and effective treatments.
