Pharmacology for Acupuncturists

Students learn pharmacological terminology and the major drug classifications. They examine the most clinically relevant drugs with consideration of the therapeutic actions and uses, potential adverse reactions, and safety precautions. Through a theoretical case-based learning approach, students appraise the potential of drug-drug interactions so they can safely advise within their scope of practice as an acupuncturist. Students gain insight into how this knowledge can be used effectively in a collaborative approach to patient care.
