Students continue their transition from assisted to supervised practice, building upon the foundational skills developed in the previous practicum. Students are expected to engage with the Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) at a Tier 5 level, demonstrating the ability to safely perform clinical tasks with minimal supervision while applying critical thinking and professional judgment. Students engage in reflective practice (EPA 10) and develop goals to guide learning over the course of this practicum. Students enhance competence in comprehensive TCM assessments (EPA 1), refining diagnoses and treatment planning (EPA 2), and independently performing treatments, including acupuncture and auxiliary modalities (EPA 4, EPA 5). Students further develop their ability to maintain accurate patient records (EPA 7), provide lifestyle and homecare advice (EPA 6), and communicate effectively in collaborative settings (EPA 9). They also integrate evidence-based insights into practice (EPA 8) and continue adherence to infection prevention standards (EPA 11). By the end of this practicum, students demonstrate proficiency in delivering TCM treatments and managing patient care, showcasing their readiness to take on greater autonomy in clinical practice.
