Mandatory Professional Practicum 4 - Acupuncture Clinic and Capstone

Course Code: TCMA 360

Academic Year: 2026-2027

Students transition from supervised to independent practice and demonstrate full readiness for entry into the TCM profession. Students are expected to engage with the Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) at a Tier 6 or Tier 7 level, achieving full competence across all EPA categories. Students focus on the full integration of TCM assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery, including prioritizing patient outcomes, building therapeutic relationships, and applying advanced problem-solving skills. Students demonstrate mastery of EPAs such as conducting complete assessments and diagnoses (EPA 1, EPA 2), independently performing treatments (EPA 3, EPA 4, EPA 5), offering lifestyle and homecare (EPA 6) and managing complex cases with evidence-based approaches (EPA 8). They also maintain professional documentation (EPA 7), collaborate effectively (EPA 9), and uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and infection prevention (EPA 11). As the capstone requirement, students complete final comprehensive examinations that assess their clinical knowledge, practical skills, and professional judgment. By the end of this practicum, students successfully demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and judgment required for independent practice, meeting all regulatory and professional standards for the TCM profession.
