This course introduces students to the fundamentals of technical communication in applied science and technology fields. Through writing, research, oral presentations, and visual design, students learn to create clear, professional documents tailored to specific audiences and purposes. Emphasis is placed on using digital tools to gather technical information, applying editing strategies for clarity, and communicating effectively in collaborative environments. Students also explore the role of academic integrity and responsible AI use in ethical communication, while developing awareness of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) and the systemic impact of social identity in technical contexts.
