This course is a continuation of Methodology 1. It further continues to emphasize the development and practice of instructional methods and techniques used in adult ESL classrooms for pre-service instructors. The course begins with language skills and vocabulary micro-teaching sessions, integrating theory and practice in the classroom and in preparation for practicum placement assignments. This course focuses on the teaching of vocabulary, themes, materials development, extended lesson planning and the approaches, methods and techniques used in teaching academic English in a post-secondary institution. This course combines current theory and practice in adult ESL classrooms. As such, students will be involved in classroom group discussions, online discussions and interactions, materials analysis and development, lesson planning and micro-teaching sessions.
