TESL 5015 provides students with knowledge and skills related to the adult ESL classroom, focusing on a variety of teaching approaches, methods and techniques. This course will focus on the practical application in the ESL classroom of TESL theory in relation to Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) and curriculum, ESL Literacy, and materials and assessment development, selection and adaptation in relation to portfolio-based language assessment (PBLA). Related professional resources from various organizations will continue to be used and incorporated throughout the course.
