This is a general course on safe working practices in the workplace or jobsite and the considerations/attitudes regarding safety. The course deals with Working at Heights training/certification, ladder/scaffold safety, powered elevated work platforms training and certification, personal protective equipment, eye protection, hearing protection, back safety, hand safety, respiratory protection, fire prevention/training, workplace conditions, electrical hazards and emergencies, heat stress, WHMIS (GHS), the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, risk assessment, tool and machine safety, behaviour practices and work ethics.
