This is a general course on stage rigging covering the use of various types of lines, rigging hardware, techniques and systems. The course will deal with natural and synthetic rope work, knot tying and splicing, wire rope and hardware, "hemp" spot lines and line sets, counterweight line sets, stage scenery rigging and flying, curtain styles and hanging methods, miscellaneous rigging. Particular attention will be given to safety, including working load limits of various lines and materials and rigging practices and techniques.
