This is the first semester course for students in electromechanical engineering technology program. Topics of study include factoring, variation and its applications, linear and quadratic equations as well as systems of linear equations, trigonometry and its application for solution of right and oblique triangles. Students are also introduced to operations with complex numbers and alternating current applications. Further topics include the exponential and logarithmic functions and their use in modeling growth and decay processes. Significant attention is paid to sine and cosine waveforms and their analytical and graphical representations.
