Today's tourism professionals must be adept not only in their knowledge of global destinations but also in how to qualify and effectively communicate tourism product to a target customer. In this foundational course students will gain expertise in destination geography, travel logistics, tourism patterns and travel trends in key areas within North America, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Additionally, students will learn to assess a destination's unique character, to quantify the motivations of the travel customer, and acquire the sales techniques necessary to ideally match both, customers and destinations for a successful travel experience.
