Domestic Airfares and Global Distribution Systems

This course introduces the students to Apollo; a live Computer Reservation System used in the travel industry. Students will use the computer system to create, modify and cancel reservations and will determine the cost of air transportation for a variety of domestic itineraries using a range of distribution channels. Students will use the Apollo Computer Reservation System to price and book travel arrangements. This course also analyzes how the different travel company websites and the Internet are a competitive platform to book travel. Students will identify the role of the Internet in consumer decision making as an on-line distribution channel. This course provides the foundation for TRAV222 - Advanced Airfares and Global Distribution Systems.
