This course will enable students to design, price and package domestic and international customized independent travel itineraries to satisfy the diverse needs of Canadian and international vacationers. A selection of Canadian and International Destination Management Companies (DMCs) are used for practical case studies. Customized travel is examined from both the wholesale and retail perspective. Students will identify and discuss the functions of Destination Management Companies and their role in developing customized itineraries. The impact of fluctuating currency exchange rates on tour prices and methods of protecting pricing structures are discussed. Student develop research skills to design and price complex tour itineraries using Microsoft Excel.
