This course introduces students to the fundamentals of the cruise industry, one of the fastest-growing segments in the global tourism industry. Using a practical approach, students will explore the various cruise regions throughout the world, target markets, profiles of the cruise lines, tourism patterns, cruise sales/marketing, and career opportunities. By completing the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) training modules, readings, research, lectures, discussions, and review of various selling tools, students will develop the essential cruise industry knowledge and skills to sell and promote cruise vacations successfully. This hybrid course consists of both in-person and online lessons.
