The practice of User Experience Design is rooted in research, yet all too often, companies forego or scrimp on research budgets in their rush to get a new digital product or service to market. Students will first learn how to uncover business gaps and find opportunities by conducting a UX competitive analysis. In this foundational course, students will learn to solve design problems through planning a research project, conducting user interviews, analyzing, and reporting. Students will learn how to generate user personas and journey maps based on their research data. Students will also be introduced to other qualitative and quantitative research methods.
