Digital Fine Art 1 is an introduction to the technology, categories, vocabulary and creative processes of using the computer as an artist's tool. Basic and intermediate techniques in Adobe Creative Cloud software will provide the structure of the course. Digital collage, digital drawing and painting, digital art photography, and digital mixed media will all be explored. Emphasis will also be placed on developing an aesthetic criterion for evaluation. The course will highlight critical debates in the fine art world about the nature and place of digital art making.
