Students will explore the conceptual and technical aspects of moving image art. The course will introduce students to the fundamentals of video production through camera, sound recording and editing workshops. Students will investigate experimental film techniques including painting on film with handmade pigments, exploring chance and experimentation with video and incorporating found footage and sound recordings. Contemporary experimental film, video art and installation will be explored through screenings and research presentations.
