This advanced studio course in drawing exposes the student to contemporary and experiential methods within a socio-cultural context. Students will put into practice the drawing principles of gesture, line, shape, value, and form to create strong, visual representations within compositional frameworks. Contemporary drawing involves complex responses, innovative practices, and reassessment of definitions. Students will be equipped with problem solving skills and visual vocabulary through researching contemporary issues and actively partaking in contemporary critical discourse in the studio environment.
