Students study the concepts and technology that support the backhaul of telecommunication systems. Students investigate the layer 2 and layer 3 networking technologies that support the backhaul of telecommunication systems. Students learn to set up and configure a link between a DSLAM and a DSL modem. Students study ipV6 routing protocols to design and implement the integration of ipV4 and ipV6 addresses. Students learn to configure MPLS over an OSPF network. Students also examine various topics in network security including VPN and firewalls.
