Field Experience - Baking and Culinary

The internship course provides students with hands-on practical exposure to the culinary and baking and pastry industry. The work placement provides students with the opportunity to train under certified professionals with an approved industry partner. Students will have an opportunity to observe and learn from experienced personnel in a real life work setting, while integrating a competency-based working template as a framework for learning. The work placement encourages students to apply skills and implement knowledge learned in the classroom to the needs of the current workplace. The work placement requires students to work 40 hours a week for 7 weeks while communicating with their advisor and tracking their progress for evaluation.
