Commercial System Design 1

The student will learn the requirements and procedures for calculating the heat loss and gain for commercial buildings to meet design criteria, and become familiar with the selection procedure of HVAC equipment to meet a building's heating and cooling loads. Students will also learn the requirements to size and layout an air distribution system as outlined by the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE) based on a load estimate for commercial buildings.
