Academic Year

2016-2017

This course begins with a brief review of networking basics, the layered architecture and the OSI and TCP/IP models. Interconnected LANS and Campus Networks are also reviewed. Next, much time is spent on Switch Configuration, Router Configuration and VLANs. This is followed by study of Internet technologies and network services (cable, DSL modems, DHCP and DNS, NAT/PAT, VPN Security, IPv6 Addressing). In approximately the last one-third of the course the major topic of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is covered thoroughly.
