In the sixth semester of the drafting and detailing project, the student will advance his or her understanding, knowledge and skills of architectural technology issues by studying a variety of building and site planning complexities pertaining to a given two-storey resort motel on a sloped building site. The student will prepare high quality working drawings and details involving load bearing masonry, hollow core concrete slabs and heavy timber roof trusses and beams. Major emphasis will be placed on contouring and site development, building science issues, and sustainable construction. Drawings will be prepared using Revit Architecture in metric units, in compliance with the Ontario Building Code.
