This course prepares students to collect good-quality heart rhythm and 12-lead ECG data, and to interpret the data s significance in the context of exercise testing and prescription. It is designed to develop the knowledge, competency and skills that enable students to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias and to act appropriately as a kinesiologist. This course provides good foundational knowledge in the area of electrocardiography for students looking to complete Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification exams. Learning takes place in both the classroom and the lab.
