Electromagnetic Waves

Course Code

ELIC 352

Academic Year

2016-2017

Following the study of electromagnetic waves and their propagation properties in different media, the student will learn to calculate and measure transmission line, waveguide, and antenna parameters in order to assess the proper working of a communications system. He/she will learn to identify the frequency bands of different communication services, to select and install transmission lines, antennas, waveguides and other microwave components to meet requirements for terrestrial and satellite communication systems. The course concludes with a survey of the latest antenna technologies used in cellular telephony and other wireless applications.
