This course will introduce students to the materials, sizing, joining methods and code requirements for piping/tubing systems used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration (R) systems. Emphasis will be placed on the code requirements for natural gas and propane piping/tubing systems. Labs will be used to reinforce the methods of joining steel, copper and plastic materials. This course will also introduce students to the various types of natural gas and propane equipment, components and accessories.
