Family Centred Practices

Students will examine their personal and professional values in working with children and adults with diverse needs and their families. Factors and influences that may affect families such as poverty and isolation will be examined. Demonstrating empathy and support for families, students will practice various communication techniques that respect the principles of a family centred approach. Students will examine a variety of models for providing education and support for families.
