In this course, students become familiar with the field of ergonomics, including: workplace musculoskeletal disorders, occupational health and safety legislation, workplace evaluation and assessment techniques and making successful ergonomic changes. Students comprehensively examine and apply various methods of evaluating an injured worker's abilities using work-related functional activities. This course introduces students to the concepts and practices of occupational health and safety and disability management. Topic areas include managing occupational health and safety in workplaces, inter-professional collaboration, legislative mandates, claims management, return to work and labour market re-entry.
